Bulk Uploader: Creating Your Spreadsheet

Use this guide when creating or editing campaigns with the Bulk Uploader tool. You'll find the steps for creating the spreadsheet in Excel or Google Sheets. We'll also explain each field in the template, including when to use it and which values are allowed. Some fields are only for creating campaigns, others for editing, and others or both.

Only use the fields and values listed below in English. Translating them, or using unsupported values and formats, may result in errors.

Creating your spreadsheet

Excel

  1. Open a new Excel workbook.
  2. Go to the Data tab.
  3. In the Get External Data group, select From Text.
  4. Locate the CSV file you downloaded and select Get Data.
  5. In the Text Import Wizard:
    1. Choose Delimited as the original data type, then select Next.
    2. Select Comma as the delimiter and deselect Tab, then select Next.
    3. Prevent Excel from converting your formats:
      1. In Data preview, select the first column.
      2. Scroll to the last column, then select it while holding Shift to highlight all columns.
      3. Under Column data format, choose Text, then select Finish.
  6. Select OK to insert the data into cell A1.
  7. Save the Excel file as a CSV before uploading it to the Bulk Uploader tool.

Google Sheets

  1. Open Google Sheets.
  2. Select File > Import, then go to the Upload tab.
  3. Upload the CSV file you downloaded.
  4. In the import settings:
    1. Choose Import location (for example, Insert new sheet).
    2. Select Separator type.
      1. If Detect automatically doesn't work, open the CSV in a text editor and confirm the separator. Then select that option.
    3. Set Convert text to numbers, dates and formulas to No.
  5. Select Import Data.
  6. Make your edits, then download the file again as a CSV before uploading it to the Bulk Uploader tool.
