FAQs: Free Job Post Policy

This FAQ gives quick answers to common questions about Indeed's free job post policy. You'll learn how many free jobs you can post each month, which countries the limit applies to, and how long your free posts stay visible. You'll also find out what happens when you pause, close, or sponsor a job. Use this guide to understand the rules and make the most of your free job posts on Indeed.

Question: Will I know when I've reached my free job post limit?

Answer: Yes. We'll notify you in your employer account during the job posting process. This limit only applies in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Japan for jobs posted directly on Indeed.

Question: Can I post more jobs after reaching my monthly limit?

Answer: Yes. You can keep posting by sponsoring your jobs. This keeps them visible and helps you reach more job seekers.

Question: Does the free job post limit apply to all countries?

Answer: No. The 3 free jobs per month limit only applies to jobs posted directly on Indeed in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Japan. Other countries have no monthly limits at this time.

Question: Does this limit apply to jobs posted through an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)?

Answer: No. This limit only applies to free jobs posted directly on Indeed. It doesn't affect jobs posted through ATS partners.

Question: Is there a limit to how long my free job posts will stay visible?

Answer: Yes.

  • In certain countries listed in the Free Job Post Policy article: Free jobs show for up to 120 days from the day you post them.
  • In US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Japan: Free jobs show for up to 30 days from the day you post them
  • In all other countries: Free jobs show for up to 30 days from the day you post them

When your free job reaches its time limit, we'll notify you in your employer account. You can then choose to sponsor it to keep it visible.

Question: If I close a free job before its visibility period ends, can I reopen it the next month without it counting toward my limit?

Answer: No. If you posted a job more than 30 days ago, you can't reopen it to get free visibility.

  • This is true even if you closed it before the 30 days ended
  • To post a new free job, create a brand new job post
  • Reopening a closed job from a previous month requires sponsorship

Question: If I sponsor a job, does that count toward my free job post limit?

Answer: No. Sponsored jobs don't count toward your 3 free job limit.

  • You can sponsor a job at any time
  • Sponsorship keeps the job visible in search results beyond 30 days
  • You can sponsor jobs even after you've posted 3 free jobs

Question: If I pause my job, does that still count toward my free job post limit?

Answer: Yes. Paused jobs still count toward your 3-job limit.

  • The 30-day clock keeps running while the job is paused
  • If the job has passed the 30 day free visibility limit, you will need to sponsor the job for it to be shown

Important: Jobs that don’t meet Indeed’s Terms of Service or job posting policies may receive limited or no visibility in search results.
