Free Job Post Policy
Indeed lets you post free jobs in countries around the world. The number of free jobs you can post each month and how long they’ll show up in search results depends on your location.
The basic rule
This policy applies to jobs posted directly on Indeed. Jobs posted through an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) are not affected.
In select countries (US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland):
- You can post up to 3 free jobs per calendar month
- Each free job shows for up to 30 days in search results
In all other countries:
- Free jobs show for up to 30 days
- The number of free job posts is not limited at this time
- In some countries (listed below), free jobs show for up to 120 days
When you reach your monthly limit or your job reaches its time limit, you can pay to sponsor jobs. This keeps them visible and helps you reach more job seekers.
Terms, conditions, quality standards, and usage limits apply. Jobs that don’t meet Indeed’s requirements may receive limited or no visibility in search results.
How the 3-job count works for 30-day countries
Here are examples to help you understand how we count your 3 free jobs:
Example 1: Posting and closing jobs
- January 5: You post Job A (free job 1 of 3)
- January 10: You post Job B (free job 2 of 3)
- January 15: You close Job A
- January 20: You post Job C (free job 3 of 3)
- Result: You've used all 3 free jobs for January, even though Job A closed early.
Example 2: Reopening old jobs
- February 3: You post Job D (free job 1 of 3)
- February 10: You close Job D
- February 20: You try to reopen Job D
- Result: Job D will be free until March 5th. You must sponsor it to make it visible in search results after that time.
Example 3: Duplicating jobs
- March 5: You post Job E (free job 1 of 3)
- March 15: You duplicate Job E to create Job F
- Result: Job F counts as free job 2 of 3. Each duplicate uses one of your 3 free spots.
When your count resets
Your free job count resets on the first day of each calendar month at 12:00 AM in your time zone.
For example:
- You post 3 jobs in March
- On April 1 at 12:00 AM, your count goes back to 0
- You can post 3 new free jobs in April
Companies with Multiple Accounts
If your company has multiple Indeed accounts – such as for different locations, brands, or franchises – they may be linked under one parent company.
How it works:
- All accounts linked under the same parent company share the same 3-job limit per month
- Example: If your company has 5 different Indeed accounts for different locations, then all 5 accounts share a combined limit of 3 free jobs per month, not 3 jobs per account.
- The limit applies to the entire company, not each individual account
Why this matters:
- Check with your company’s team before posting
- Other accounts may have already used the 3 free posts
- Plan together to decide which jobs to post as free each month
