How To Manage Employer Accounts on Groups
This article explains how to find and manage your organization in Indeed, including switching group levels and understanding permissions. You’ll learn how to add users and employer accounts, use invite links, and control access across groups. It also covers how to manage groups by renaming, moving, archiving, or removing them—either one at a time or in bulk.
Finding your organization
- Sign in to your employer account.
- Click or tap the person icon.
- Choose Groups.
- If you don’t see this, choose Users instead.
- The user management page will have the hierarchy in the top navigation bar
Switching group levels
Your organization can have up to six levels. You can switch between them.
If you have access to more than one hierarchy, you can switch between them on this page. You can also change levels from the Organization tab at the top of your Employer Account Page. Use the navigation bar to move between the root advertiser, level one group, or other higher groups.
Adding users to groups
Users can be added to one or many employer accounts.
To add a user:
- Choose the right group from the Groups page.
- Go to the Users page.
- Click or tap Add users.
- Enter their information.
- Choose their access level.
- Click or tap Save and notify new users.
What happens next
- Users will get an email.
- New users must create an account within 15 days.
- If they already have an Indeed account, they will be added the next time they sign in.
Permissions
Inherited permissions
- If a user gets permission in one group, they also get the same permission in all groups inside it.
- Permissions do not carry across groups at the same level.
Additive permissions
- Users always inherit basic permissions from their group.
- You can also give them extra permissions for certain groups.
Adding employer accounts to a group
An employer account has a billing method, a primary owner, and any number of secondary users. This is different from a user account.
To add an employer account:
- Go to the Groups page or switch account page.
- Choose the group you want to add the account to.
- Click Add groups.
- Enter the group name and group email address.
- Click Save Groups.
- If adding an existing Group, you don't need to enter the Group Name. The Group owner will then have to accept an invite (sent via email) to the Groups account.
- If adding a new Group, the Group owner will need to create an account password and verify the email address. There will be an email for each part (e.g. one for password creation and one for email verification).
What happens next
- The group owner will get an email.
- Existing groups click the link to confirm.
- New groups click Create account, set a password, and confirm their email.
- When creating a new account, the page should display Create your employer account at the top of the page, not Create your account. If you see Create your account, click Wait, I am an Employer, then enter the password.
Open invite links
Admins can turn on special invite links so people can:
- Join a group, or
- Create a subgroup under it.
Admins can approve or deny requests under the Users or Groups tabs.
If you are a user clicking an invite link:
- Sign in or create an account.
- Enter your name and phone number.
- Choose Join a group or Create a new group.
- Send the request.
- Wait for admin approval.
Managing groups
Individually
