Job Posting Integrity and Duplicates

This policy applies to all employers posting jobs on Indeed. Our goal is to make the job search simple, fair, and clear for job seekers. To support this, each real job opportunity should appear only once on Indeed.

Posting the same role more than once, or reposting in a way that confuses search results, may cause posts to be hidden, removed, or require sponsorship.

Policy requirements

Post each job only once.

Each job should appear only once on the platform.
Use one clear, accurate job title per role.
Make sure the details (pay, location, duties) match across all postings.
If a job is available in more than one location, post it once per location.

Don't repost your job.

Update an existing job post instead of creating a new one.
Only repost if the role has closed and later reopens.
Keep details accurate and consistent across reposted jobs.

Duplicate or reopened jobs

Posting a duplicate job

When a new job appears to be a copy of an existing job, Indeed may prevent you from posting the job.
You may be blocked from posting the job before it ever gets moderated.
Review your existing job listings to check for an active or recent version of the same role.

Reopening an old job

If you re-open an old job, you may see the job as "Flagged".
Contact Indeed for help if your reopened job was flagged.

If you're asked to sponsor a job but believe it isn't a duplicate, follow the next steps at the bottom of this article.

What happens if you break this policy

First issues

Your job post may be hidden or shown lower in search results.
You may be required to sponsor your job post to have it appear.

Repeated or serious issues

You may lose access to free or organic job visibility.
You may lose access to job seeker matching services.
Your account may be restricted or removed from Indeed.

Next steps

If we removed or hid your job post:

Check if the role was posted more than once.
Update your original job post instead of creating duplicates.
Make sure each role is unique, with accurate job details.
Post only real, open jobs and update them as needed.

Contact Indeed Support if you believe we removed your post by mistake.
