My job posting is showing incorrect information

You can fix incorrect information on your job listing. How you do this depends on where you posted the job: on Indeed or through a hiring system like an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or career site.

Edit jobs posted directly on Indeed

If you posted your job on Indeed (not from your career site or ATS):

  1. Sign in to your Indeed account
  2. Go to your Jobs dashboard
  3. Select Managed on Indeed
  4. Select the job you want to edit
  5. Select Edit job
  6. Select the pencil icon next to the details you want to change
  7. Select Save changes

To check your changes, select View public job page on the selected job. Changes usually appear within a few minutes.

Edit jobs connected from your ATS or career site

You may have connected your Indeed account to your ATS or career site. If so, you can edit these jobs on Indeed. Fields marked Synced with career site come from your hiring system. You can still change them on Indeed.

Changes you make on Indeed only update the Indeed listing. They don't update your career site or ATS. To update those systems, make changes directly in them.

To edit connected jobs:

  1. Sign in to your Indeed account
  2. Go to your Jobs dashboard
  3. Select All jobs to show career site jobs
  4. Select the job you want to edit
  5. Select the pencil icon next to the details you want to change
  6. Select Save changes
Once you edit a connected job on Indeed, the connection to your career site is broken. You'll need to make all future edits on Indeed.

Edit jobs in your ATS or career site

If you can't find the job in your Indeed account, but you can see it in Indeed's search results, your account is not connected to your career site or ATS. Make changes directly in your career site or ATS instead.

Changes will appear on Indeed within a few hours, but can take up to 24 hours. This depends on how busy our system is and how your connection is set up.

How Indeed gets job information from your career site

Indeed gets information from your ATS fields. If a detail doesn't have a matching field in your ATS, Indeed may pull it from your job description.

To make sure Indeed shows details correctly:

Use clear, simple words in your job description. See examples below:

  • Pay or salary – Include words like "pay," "salary," or "compensation" with dollar signs ($) or USD
  • Schedule or shift – Add the word "shift" and "schedule details" before you list the details
  • Location type – Say if the job is remote, hybrid, on the road, or in the office

Troubleshooting

If you've tried the steps above but your job still shows incorrect information, try these solutions.

Issue: Your edit is under review

Solution: Some edits require review to ensure your job meets posting guidelines. The review usually completes within 24 hours. Your job will update automatically once approved. You don't need to take any action during the review. Check back in 24 hours to see your updated job listing.

Issue: Your browser shows an old version

Solution: Your browser may be showing cached content. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then check your job listing again.

If your job information remains incorrect after 24 hours, contact Indeed Support. Include:

  • Your job title
  • The incorrect information you're seeing
  • What you expect to see instead

We'll investigate the issue and help resolve it.
