Generic or Confidential Company Names

Job seekers want to know which company is offering a role before applying. A clear company name helps people learn about the organization and decide if the job is a good fit.

If a job uses a generic or confidential name (for example, "Confidential Executive Office" or “Confidential Organization"), it may not show in search results or may have limited visibility.

Policy requirements

  • Jobs with generic or confidential company names may be hidden or shown less often.

  • You can still reach job seekers by sponsoring your job. Sponsorship helps your post appear even if the company name is not shown.

  • Use a clear company name whenever possible. This helps job seekers learn about your organization.

Next steps

If we removed or hid your job post:

  • Check your company name and update it to be clear and accurate.

  • Use sponsorship if you need more visibility while keeping the company name confidential.

Contact Indeed Support if you believe we removed your post by mistake.
