Non-Work Opportunities
Indeed is a job site. All posts must be for real, paid jobs. Posts that offer unpaid work, fake openings, unpaid internships, or other non-job content are not allowed. We may remove or hide posts that could confuse job seekers or break these rules.
This policy is global, but some markets have different rules for certain types of jobs.
Posting requirements
Post real and accurate jobs
- Don't post jobs that aren't real.
- These include, but aren't limited to:
- Ads for services or products
- Test posts
- Business opportunities
- Posts with nonsense words
Avoid candidate pooling
- Don't post fake jobs to collect resumes for a database (also called a "bait-and-switch").
- These posts are misleading to job seekers and a waste of their time.
- Examples include jobs labeled "talent bank" or "general application".
Don't post passive income opportunities
- "Passive income" roles that offer money for little to no work aren't allowed.
- Examples are:
- Paid surveys
- Medical trials
Make sure jobs are paid
- All jobs must pay money for work done.
- This includes any training or trial periods.
- We don't allow jobs that offer only "experience" or "exposure."
Unpaid internships
All internships on Indeed must be:
- Paid
- Listed as "internship" in the title
Jobs kept open for indefinite periods
Keeping jobs open without a definite hiring need is not allowed.
Misleading job titles or descriptions
Don't use:
- Vague or misleading job titles
- Descriptions that don't match an actual, available job opening
Unpaid trial periods
Jobs can't need a trial shift without pay.
Volunteer roles
- We only allow true volunteer roles at non-profit organizations.
- The job title must say "volunteer."
- We don't allow volunteer roles at for-profit companies.
