Smart Screening’s Candidate Summary and Score

When you use Smart Screening, each applicant has a Candidate Summary Page. This page shows a score ranging from 0 to 100 for applications called the Smart Fit Score™. You still make all hiring decisions—who to interview and who to hire.

The Candidate Summary page shows an applicant's Smart Fit Score.

How the score works

The Smart Fit Score™ uses the screening criteria you set for your job. It reviews the information each applicant provides:

  • Resume
  • Screening question answers
  • Location details
  • Other application information

The score reflects how well each application matches what you're looking for. It doesn't compare applicants to one another or use external data. It only uses what the applicant submitted and the criteria you set.

How the score is calculated

It is powered by an employer’s specific screening criteria, which is translated into a structured evaluation framework, weighting each criteria based on what matters most, according to the employer.

So if the employer says management experience is a must-have and budgeting experience is a nice-to-have, missing the management experience will have a bigger impact on the score than the budgeting experience.

Use the Candidate’s Summary for more details

The score is just one part of the picture. The Candidate Summary Page provides a unified view of each application.

The Candidate’s summary includes details such as:

  • The Smart Fit Score™. (0 to 100)
  • Where the application matches your job requirements
  • Areas that may need a closer look
  • Key details from the applicant's resume and answers

This helps you understand why an application received its score and make better hiring decisions.

Tip: Each employer should make their own judgments on whether to move an applicant forward, regardless of their Smart Fit Score™ or candidate summary. Employers are solely responsible for reviewing the suitability of such content and information, and use is not a substitute for human discretion and review.
