Troubleshooting 2FA Issues
Use this guide to find solutions to common problems with two-factor authentication (2FA).
Issue: I can not access the phone number linked to my account.
Solution: Contact us if your phone number is no longer active or the person who set up the account no longer works at your company. We will help remove the old number and add a new one to your account.
Issue: I want to use a different sign in method.
Solution: For security reasons, it is not possible to switch back to email-based 2FA once text message-based 2FA is enabled. However, you can switch to an authenticator app from your Security settings.
Issue: I am being asked to verify every time I sign in.
Typically, 2FA is only required every 90 to 365 days. You may receive the verification prompts more often if you:
Sign in on different devices or browsers
Switch Wi-Fi networks or use a VPN
Use a browser or software that blocks cookies or clears them automatically
Solution:
Use the same device and browser when signing in.
Allow cookies in your browser settings.
Avoid private or incognito mode.
Issue: I did not receive the verification code.
Solution:
Change your Do Not Disturb setting.
Unblock any phone numbers from employers in your device's Do Not Disturb setting.
Ensure your Do Not Disturb setting is also set to Allow Notifications From.
Verify that your device is on and within cell phone coverage.
If the device's signal is weak, turn it off, wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
Confirm that you are receiving text messages from other services or senders.
Check your phone's message memory.
Ensure you do not have a third-party app installed that might block, filter or interfere with text message delivery.
Ensure the messages are not delivered to your mobile phone’s junk or spam folder.
Check that the device is connected to your home carrier's network. Messages may not be delivered on devices roaming internationally or off-network.
