Using Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on Indeed

Two-factor authentication (2FA) keeps your employer account secure. Also called two-step verification, it works by asking you to confirm your identity with a one-time code when you sign in. You'll usually receive this code as a text message (SMS) to your mobile phone. If you have a verified phone number, you are automatically signed up for text message-based 2FA.

Why do we use 2FA?

2FA helps protect your account by:

  • Preventing unauthorized access, even if someone gets your password
  • Ensuring that only verified individuals can access sensitive account or hiring information

Typically, 2FA is required to sign in once every 90-365 days, unless you're:

  • Using different devices or networks
  • Using a VPN
  • Clearing your cookies or cache frequently
