Applying for a job
Start the application
- Click or tap Apply now on the job listing.
- The application will open on Indeed.
- In some cases, you may need to verify your phone number.
Add your resume
You can apply with:
- Your profile on Indeed, or
- A resume file
If you use a resume file, you can:
- Upload a file
- Use a file already uploaded to your profile
- Select Resume options to Upload a different file
Answer employer questions
- Some employers ask questions about skills, experience, or qualifications.
- You must answer these questions before you can continue.
Review and submit
- Review your application details.
- You can add supporting documents if you want.
- Click or tap Submit your application.
What happens next
- After you submit your application, you'll get an on-screen confirmation. We'll also send you a confirmation email.
- Track your application's status in the Applied tab of your My jobs page.
- Some employers allow you to follow up on your application.
- Employers may contact you through Indeed Messages to schedule interviews or share next steps.
What to do if the employer doesn't respond
After one to two weeks
Wait for the employer to review applications.
Check your spam or junk folder for messages.
After two to three weeks
If the employer allows follow-ups, send a polite message.
Keep your message short and professional.
Restate your interest in the role.
After three to four weeks
If you haven't heard back, it's okay to move on.
Keep applying to other jobs.
Don't take it personally if you don't hear back.
