Changes to Personal Details in Your Indeed CV
From 8 April 2026, Indeed will no longer include some sensitive personal details in Indeed CVs. These details are no longer needed for how Indeed CV works. This update does not apply to CV files uploaded to your profile.
Important: This change only affects demographic and identity-related fields in your Indeed CV. Demographic data that Indeed collects in other parts of the site is not affected. Take a look at our article on demographic data to learn more.
What changed
We removed the following fields from Indeed CV. You can no longer add, edit or share this information with employers:
- Citizenship
- Ethnicity
- Disability
- ID (identification) No.
- Date of birth
- Gender
These fields no longer appear when creating or updating your CV.
Did you know? This update does not apply to CV files uploaded to your profile. If you upload a file that includes this information, employers may still be able to access it.
What happened to your existing data
- We removed these fields from Indeed Resumes because they are no longer needed.
- This information is no longer stored in your Indeed CV.
- Employers can no longer access this information through your Indeed CV.
Impact on your job search
This change doesn't affect your ability to apply for jobs:
- Your Indeed account and CV remain active.
- You don't need to take any action.
- Your job search and applications continue as usual.
- You can still share information with employers during the application process if needed.
