About Your Job Search Results and Recommendations

In your homepage job feed, you'll find the jobs that might be a good match for you. These recommendations are based on your activity on Indeed, preferences, and resume. Job search results are the jobs you'll find after searching on Indeed. In this article, we'll explain how these recommendations and results are organized. You'll also learn what you can do to get better matches.

Tip: Open a job to check if you'd be a good fit. On the job post, you'll find labels and other features to help decide if you want to apply.

Personalized job grouping

We'll group jobs on your homepage based on your activity on Indeed, saved preferences, and resume. For example:

Based on your recent searches
Related to your work experience
Pay above your salary preferences, but with a longer commute

Homepage dashboard

We'll share a list of suggested next steps at the top of your homepage. Complete these tasks to improve your job recommendations.

Browse by category

We'll group jobs by category, for example, Full-time or Urgently hiring. Tap a category to browse jobs in that group.

Featured jobs

These top results show jobs where the employer is actively hiring. They include extra signals, like:

Average response time: How fast the employer usually responds
Recent hiring activity: If the company has hired many candidates recently
If you'd be an early applicant

FAQs

Question: Are all jobs in my results still open and hiring?

Answer: Yes. All jobs on Indeed have to be posted by a real employer actively hiring for a specific role. If we learn that a posted job doesn't represent a legitimate intent to hire, we remove it from the site.

Tip: You can report a job if you believe it shouldn't be on Indeed.

Troubleshooting

Issue: The search results include jobs that don't match my keywords.

Problem: Search results may include jobs that match related keywords. They'll also show jobs based on your preferences, recent activity, and nearby opportunities.

Issue: I'm getting fewer results than usual.

Problem: The number of jobs in your search results can change over time. Reasons for this could be:

Fewer current listings match your search
Your filters or preferences are narrowing your results
You've hidden certain jobs or job details
