Understanding Job Listings

Use labels, the match overview, and the company summary to learn if a job is right for you. These features can help you check how well the job matches your needs and learn more about the employer. This lets you focus on jobs that fit you best.

Labels

You'll find two types of labels on a job listing.

Job labels

• Job labels tell you more about the job and the employer.
• For example:
• Easily apply means you can apply on Indeed instead of going to the employer's site. 
• Urgently hiring means the employer is trying to fill this role quickly.

Preference labels

• Preference labels show you how a job matches the preferences you've added on Indeed.
• A green checkmark means the job matches one of your preferences, such as schedule or base pay.

Match overview

• Match overview compares your qualifications to the job requirements.
• It can help you check if you may be a good fit for the role.

Ask Career Scout

• If you have questions about the job, you can ask Indeed Career Scout questions right from the job listing
• Examples are "What would I be doing?" or "What experience do I need for this role?"
• This can help you understand the job description and check if the job is a good fit for you.

Company summary

• Company summary helps you learn more about the company and what it's like to work there.
• This feature is only available on the Indeed Job Search app.
• Not all companies provide this information.

Estimated commute

Estimated commute helps you check if the job location works for you.
