A women’s healthcare company needed to hire clinicians and licensed therapists to support its goal of serving 100,000 women by 2023. The company turned to Indeed to connect with diverse candidates who could help shape the future of women’s healthcare.
Background: A healthcare company creating a new standard of care for women

Tia is the modern medical home for women, blending in-person and virtual care across primary care, gynecology, mental health and other wellness services at clinics in New York City, Los Angeles, Phoenix and San Francisco. “We’re for the whole woman, for her whole life,” says Laura Hammond, VP of People at Tia.
Tia’s co-founders, Felicity Yost and Carolyn Witte, launched the company in 2017 to redefine women’s healthcare. After Carolyn struggled for years to get a PCOS diagnosis, she decided to take her health into her own hands, quit her full-time job and built Tia. What started as an app offering advice on sexual health and gynecological issues is now creating safe places where women are seen, heard and cared for.
Challenge: Scaling hiring in a rapid growth phase
Tia has ambitious plans to scale its “whole woman, whole life” model to more than 100,000 women by 2023. Poised for rapid growth over the coming years, Laura has been in charge of building out a world-class team of employees to support this expansion.
“As any people leader knows, growth is an exciting challenge,” explains Laura. “We needed to grow from just, I think, two or three mental health therapists we had on staff to over 90 — and do it quickly.”
Since representation and inclusion are important to Tia’s mission, not only did Laura need to hire fast, but she also wanted to hire with diversity in mind. However, she found that she was getting the same kind of candidates over and over again. “When you’re always searching for candidates in the same pools, it can be very repetitive and you’re always attracting the same person,” she says.
That’s when Laura and her team turned to Indeed. With
Solution: Better visibility and screening for hard-to-fill clinical roles
By using Indeed, Laura was able to source great clinical talent. For example, she sponsors her jobs on Indeed to find more candidates, quicker. A Sponsored Job is a paid job post that has higher visibility in job seeker search results than non-sponsored jobs. This can mean more talent to choose from.

As Tia is growing its virtual and in-person operations and expanding its services, Sponsored Jobs has been a valuable way to help get there faster. “Sponsored Jobs were a great tool to help us [grow],” Laura explains.
Laura and her team also use screener questions to confirm candidates’ qualifications upfront. “One of the things that we’re most excited about is the ability to ask screening questions,” says Laura. “In hiring for clinical roles, we need to make sure that our providers have certain skills, qualifications and licensures, and so Indeed allows us to make that clear in the postings.” This upfront transparency means jobs with screener questions are

Results: 90+ hires shaping the future of the business
So far, the Tia team has hired 90+ roles through Indeed. Looking to the future, they’re hoping to hire hundreds more by the end of the year. “We are just beginning to explore the many things we can do with our new partnership [with Indeed],” says Laura.
With the help of Indeed, Tia has grown rapidly. And with every new hire, they’ve been able to serve more women across the country to meet their goal of making healthcare accessible for all. “We were truly a startup,” says Laura. “The first Tia office, I think there were 10 employees. We’re now over 375 employees, and Indeed has been a very important part of that journey.”

As Laura puts it: “We really invite all folks that join Tia to shape the future of [the business], and we’ve attracted really qualified talent through Indeed that has helped to build Tia.”
