We are seeking a Corporate Safety Manager to work in Houston, Texas. The qualified candidate will spend 60% of the time in-house in Houston and 40% of the time out in the field.
The Safety Manager is responsible for creating, implementing, and updating all field safety plans, procedures and training that directly affect field personnel. The Safety Manager is also responsible for reviewing and implementing client safety plans and procedures as directed by contractual requirements for field personnel. Must ensure safety compliance with all local, state, federal, and host-country requirements [website] Osha, Ccohs).
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Create and implement a safety program for the field environment which ensures compliance with all local, state, federal, and host-country requirements [website] Osha, Ccohs).
Create and implement a comprehensive field safety education and training program designed to protect the safety of personnel in various working environments.
Maintain safety reporting systems, and ensure compliance with the latest client, governmental, and industry safety reporting initiatives.
Coordinate with all client, local, state, federal, and host-country safety-related entities to ensure timely updates to policies and procedures.
Investigate all safety-related mishaps in a timely manner and appropriately report in compliance with all Corporate, client, local, state, federal, and host-country requirements.
Conduct client field surveillance visits, audits, creating documentation/reports, and publish findings and recommendations in a timely manner.
Responsible for coordinating Field Safety representative requirements, scheduling client-specific training requirements, drafting and coordinating site-specific field safety plans, and reporting client/contractual safety statistics.
Maintain and promote professional business relationships with all UPI clients.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong technical writing skills
Strong communication skills. Must be able to comfortably speak in front of large and small audiences during safety education and field surveillance visits.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
5-10 years’ experience in safety management field required
Current Osha 500 certification preferred
Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications preferred
Demonstrated safety industry leadership
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint
