Job Title: On-Call Enrichment Supervisor
Classification: Non-Exempt
Employee Type: On-call
Grade Level: Preschool to 8th Grade
Direct Supervisor: Enrichment and Athletics Director
Location: Lower School, 1009 Heinz Ave
Minimum Work Experience Requirement: Experience working with children in a pre-school and/or school age program. 12 Early Childhood Education Units strongly desired.

Our Enrichment Supervisors are an important part of our community, as they are responsible for supervising children (pre-school aged through 8th grade), assisting teachers, and coordinating student drop-offs and pick-ups with parents.
Description of Essential Responsibilities

- Supervise children during lunch, naps, recess, carpool and after school
- Assist teachers in the classroom
- Lead various after school activities
- Partner with teachers and other school staff to identify, create, and maintain effective programs for the children, as needed
- Identify and help address concerns or issues that need to be resolved in order to offer the highest quality care and services for the children
- Distribute snacks during the after school program
- Help facilitate the school’s carpool program by bringing children to their parents during pick-up
- Help create and lead activities for children who attend the camps that occur during our Fall, Winter, and Spring Breaks
Work Environment
This job operates in a childcare environment, both indoors and outdoors on campus. The position will interact with preschool and school-aged children on a daily basis. Supervisors may also be needed to escort students during camp field trips during the year.
Physical Demands
- Stand for long periods of time
- Climb stairs
- Lift 25 pounds (frequently), and 50 pounds (occasionally)
- Balance, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, squat, grip, and grasp (occasionally)
- Ability to aid children needing assistance, including lifting and changing diapers
- Perform repetitive motions such as: typing, moving, and manipulating computer equipment
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an on-call, non-exempt position and hours and days will vary. Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 9:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. with a 45 minute lunch. During school vacation camps work hours will vary depending on duties assigned. Extended hours may be necessary as needed to cover staffing during school/camp hours.
Very little travel is expected for this position.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to successfully pass mandated background checks, TB clearance, and other applicable state-mandated screenings
- Experience working with children in a pre-school and/or school-age program
- Strong ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues via verbal and written correspondence
- Some experience with planning and leading programs for groups of children
- Strong enthusiasm for working with children
- Ability to effectively engage and interact with children in a responsible and caring manner
- Must be able to effectively collaborate with other school colleagues to facilitate a positive and productive experience for the children.
- Must have a patient, calm, and nurturing demeanor with children
- Must be comfortable using basic computer systems, including email and G Suite/Google Apps
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual a plus but not required
- 12 Early Chlildhood Education Units
