1st Shift Chemical Blender

Haviland Enterprises, Inc., a 100% Employee Owned, industrial chemical, plastics and pool and spa chemical manufacturing and distribution company, specializing in creative chemistry seeks a Chemical Blender in our Grand Rapids, MI facility. This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor. Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Understand that Safety and ISO quality standards, requirements and responsibilities must be the top priority.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Hi-lo and scan gun experience and the ability to maintain certification is a plus.
• Chemical Blending experience a plus.
• Able to follow written and verbal directions, and complete necessary documentation. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
• Willingness to work overtime hours as needed.
• Ability to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlook.
• Enjoy and embrace a diverse/variety of job duties and a wide range of responsibilities.
• Good math and organizational skills.
• Motivation of a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervison.
• Ability to remain detail-oriented while learning, training, cross-training and backing up roles.
• Must have an excellent attendance record.
• Comfortable working with and near industrial chemicals.
• Comfortable conforming to high safety and ISO quality standards, requirements and responsibilities.
• Comfortable wearing respirators, face shields, aprons, and other PPE needed for the job.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs critical master blending job duties on a regular basis classified as critical, advanced blending capabilities requiring special skills, experience and due diligence.
• Deals with quality control, formulas, work orders, blending and maintaining accurate inventory records of critical advanced materials.
• Pick, weigh, blend, and transfer raw materials for packaging/wrapping utilizing and ensuring quality control checks while handling products and by testing products to maintain percentage accuracy/purity.
• Accurate and complete paperwork, labeling and other specified actions are mandatory.
• Perform various roles through rotation into Liquids, Powders, Waste Treatment, and others as assigned.
• Transfer products to warehouse for staging and ensure accuracy of orders pf packaged product.
• Operate, set-up, program, supply, and maintain equipment as outlines in SOP’s for manufacturing.
• Load and unload tankers.
• Ability to utilize weights and measures to accurately fill containers.
• Perform operational maintenance procedures as directed.
• Contributes to the successful blending operation at Haviland and enhances operations by ensuring a reflexive manner on decisions made by focusing on safety, costs, benefits, and risks.
• Maintain facility cleanliness throughout blending operations and duties at all times.
