The successful candidate will possess strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills. Attention to detail, process analysis with the ability to disseminate data and information to others and implement new initiatives is a must. The primary responsibilities of the position include leading the quality management system, training and certification of associates, evaluating and determining optimal process settings and controls on production lines, participating in the leadership and management of regulatory/compliance matters including AIB certification, Safe Quality Foods certification and Safety/OSHA matters. The candidate must be able to work well with customers, understand and troubleshoot issues and recommend and communicate solutions. A BS Industrial Engineering or equivalent degree and/or experience are required. Training and/or experience with Six Sigma and 5-S/Lean principles is desired, but not a requirement. Primary Areas of Responsibility

1) Lead Quality Management System including establishment, documentation and auditing of compliance with appropriate procedures, testing methods and forms to ensure consistent and repeated delivery of the highest quality flexible packaging to our customers.

2) Evaluate and determine optimal process settings and controls on various production lines, including flexographic printing presses, lamination systems and slitting and pouch converting operations to maximize the efficiencies and productivity of our operations, reduce and/or eliminate waste and optimize profitability.
a) Lead process improvement initiatives
b) Train associates on process settings, controls and audit compliance with QMS procedures, test methods and forms

3) Product development - work with customers and internal supply chain and manufacturing teams to develop products to meet customers’ needs and specifications; evaluate the performance of our products to meet customers’ needs.

4) Participate in leadership and management of various regulatory and certification programs, including:
a) Regulatory matters/compliance
b) AIB Certification (working w/ Plant Manager)
c) Safe Quality Foods certification and compliance
d) Safety/OSHA related matters (working w/ Plant Manager)
