Job Description Summary and Essential Functions :
Doss Aviation is accepting resumes for program manager (PM) and alternate program manager (APM) for an Army helicopter instructor pilot (IP) contract out of Fort Rucker, Alabama. Aviation and operational military experience is required in one or more of the following aircraft: OH-58D, UH-60 or AH-64D. The PM/APM should have aircraft experience at company level or higher as an IP. Aircraft training includes flight training and flight training support to execute the OH‑58D, UH-60 and AH-64D training courses.

The contract involves training conducted in accordance with the Army Aircrew Training Manual and applicable training requirements. On this contract, IPs conduct preflight and in-flight briefings and post flight debriefings and after action reviews (AAR) to ensure student pilots have a thorough understanding and comprehension of the training materials.

Advanced flight instruction training consists of basic and advanced flight tasks and maneuvers, instrument training, terrain flight techniques, advanced navigation and navigational systems, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs), and end of stage check rides. The contract provides academic and classroom instruction on aircraft systems, training maneuvers, procedures, and other flight related subjects.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Program Management Specifics :
The PM is the on-site authority for contract management. The APM is aligned to indicate his/her role as deputy and interim PM when needed. Program management duties may include:

Build and manage a winning team of disciplined and motivated staff (60-75 personnel) to accomplish the mission

Leads and directs key functional prime and sub-contract managers

Ensures safe flight and ground operations environment

Provides direct liaise with on-site government management personnel

Provides contract team leadership and team building

Oversees sub-contractor contractual compliance

Ensures all employees are trained and qualified

Maintains liaison with Doss Aviation corporate management as needed

Minimum Experience Requirements :
Experience managing technical personnel.

Experience managing aviation maintenance and training activities.

Experience with cost effectiveness analysis and systems management.

Experience with requirements definition; work planning; budget development; fiscal control; scheduling; task control; work progress assessments; contract management; client communications; and staff recruiting/development.

3 years Army Aviation experience and 10 years Senior Program Management of large-scale military systems.

Education : BA/BS/Undergraduate Degree/ Major: Bachelor's Degree and Graduate of the US Army UH-60, AH-64D, or OH-58D (R) Instructor Pilots/Methods of Instruction Course

Type of Experience : Aviation and operational military experience in OH-58D, UH-60 or AH-64D and program management experience on aviation programs
