Consumer Goods Manufacturing Company located in Santa Fe Springs, CA is seeking an experienced Machine Operator. Candidate must have technical experience, be able to work with a team, and ensure timely completion of production and quality reports.

Work as a team-player with other members on the line regarding problems/key issues/higher output requirements.
Develop and build teams by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
And from Shift to Shift
Communicate with production management regarding all key issues related to production, quality, and inefficiencies.
Technical experience with machine operation in a manufacturing environment.
The ability to control machines and processes by using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles)
Participate in changeovers when required.
Perform mechanical adjustments for correct operation of machinery.
The ability to handle and move objects by using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating machinery.
Verify and ensure that all raw materials are present and meet specifications before use to maintain a continuous flow of production.
Inspect condition of line machines before and during operation, to ensure safe and efficient operation, report any abnormalities to supervisor.
Ensure timely completion of production and quality reports.
Monitor processes, Materials, or Surroundings — Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
Ensure product quality meets customer requirements
Making Decisions and Solving Problems — Analyze information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems as soon as identified.
The candidate must be able to work: independently, frequently under time constraints, and other duties as assigned

Examine completed work to detect defects and verify conformance to work orders and adjust machinery as necessary to correct production problems.
Start machines and move controls to regulate tension on pressure rolls and synchronize speed of machine components.
Adjust guide assemblies, forming bars, and folding mechanisms according to specifications, using hand tools.
Install attachments to machines or remove machine parts in regard to changeover.
Measure, space, and set saw blades, cutters, and perforators, according to product specifications.
Observe operation of various machines to detect and correct machine malfunctions and correct appropriate systems.
Place rolls of paper or cardboard on machine feedtracks, and thread paper through gluing, coating, and slitting rollers.
Cut products to specified dimensions using various knives.
Be able to work rotating shifts.

Operation and Control — Control operation of equipment or systems.
Coordination — Adjust actions in relation to others' actions.
Critical Thinking — Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate and understand principles of machinery and make adjustments as needed.

Requires a high school diploma.
Related Experience: Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is usually needed.
Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
