As a result of this growth, we are seeking additional management to support our US plants. We are recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to work out of our Melrose Park, IL plant.The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the work and activity of permanent and temporary personnel within the Maintenance Department.Principal Responsibilities: Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel. Manage budget and review financial and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement. Direct and coordinate the Maintenance Departments financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiencies. Spend 60-70% of time on the plant floor in order to manage associates and activities in a hands-on manner. Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance. Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions. Investigate accidents and injuries, and prepare reports of findings. Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures. Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results. Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures. Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies. Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs. Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical educational training or experience. Proficient MS Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems, such as AS/400. Ability to work flexible hours as needed based on production and maintenance needs. At least 5 years experience managing a maintenance team within a manufacturing/industrial environment. Hands-on exposure to PLC's, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, motors, etc. Experience within metal or steel industry ideal. Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred, but not required. Ability to work in hot and cold plant conditions as needed. Ability to walk, stand, crouch, bend, kneel, lift, carry, reach as needed.
