Full job description
We are looking for a manufacturing process engineer with at least 5 years experience in web manufacturing. Our rubber tape and web-based products are used in the highway construction industry. Manufacturing processes and web handling for our web production lines include coatings, bead and adhesive application, curing, slitting, and winding.
We are a $20MM company based in Aurora, Colorado. We were recently purchased by a company wanting to invest in our technology and expertise. As our unique products receive approval from more and more state DOTs, we expect to grow 50% and more over the next two years. We have a tightly knit leadership and management team, and we need more good leaders to help us grow. Everyone in the company has an impact on the bottom line and influence on our customers. We are all quality conscious and customer focused to build the best and most cost effective products in the highway construction industry.
We need a Process Engineer who loves the technical aspects of manufacturing engineering like using statistical process control (SPC) to lower costs, boost productivity and refine quality. And we need a business-minded leader as well, who is interested in making a big impact and having influence on people, projects and responsibility in a smaller organization.
In addition to your web handling expertise and process engineering, you will supervise the plant maintenance personnel and projects. We will work with you to develop and manage the capital expenditure budgets, and manage the plant maintenance budget. As we grow and develop new products, you will be responsible for evaluating new equipment options available to us. And as you become familiar with our products and industry, you will have the opportunity to develop new products and support our R&D.
This is a unique position that combines technical expertise with leadership experience of people and projects. You must have a 4-year degree in an engineering related field. Most important is your web handling expertise, and you will be expected to apply a variety of statistical tools to production data for process improvement and reliability. You need to have maintenance experience and mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment. And as a key member of our leadership team, you need to be a good supervisor of people, projects and budgets, and can effectively communicate and interact with people of all levels from machine operator to company president.
