Maintains the operations of production in the facility by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Direct the activities of plant supervisors and or lead-men with ultimate responsibility for facilitating the activities of all plant personnel. Work closely with in-house freight carrier to ensure suitable material flow for both inbound and outbound shipments.Accomplish results by establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising production and shipping schedules, and resolving daily problems.Oversee all safety activities to maintain and promote a safe work environment.Ensure operation of equipment by scheduling repairs, and evaluating needed maintenance and PM programs. Specify purchase of equipment and plant layout.Build and maintain databases and spreadsheets used to report to superiors.Monitor and approve all production expenditures.Direct all new plant projects.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESManages and oversees all departments within production. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of production. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or five to eight years related Flat Rolled Service Center with both slitting and cut-to-length experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
