Full job description

Interlake Mecalux, Inc., a manufacturer of metal industrial racking and shelving, is searching for a Plant Maintenance Supervisor to work in our Melrose Park, IL factory. This role will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day work of a team of 15 maintenance personnel across 3 shifts.

Responsibilities:
Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
Assist in the development of strategic improvement plans for plant maintenance including plant equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, instrumentation, electrical, and control systems.
Spend 75% - 100% of time on the plant floor in order to supervise personnel and their activities in a hands-on manner.
Monitor personnel's work levels and review work performance.
Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA
Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical educational training is preferred
Ability to work flexible hours as needed based on production and maintenance needs.
At least 5 years experience managing a maintenance team within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Strong working knowledge of roll-formers, progressive stamping dies, electrical, hydraulics, neumatics, electronics, and PLC's.
Experience with roll-forming, welding, paint, slitting, and other metal forming equipment is preferred.
Ability to work in hot, cold, dirty, noisy conditions as needed.
Ability to walk, stand, crouch, bend, kneel, lift, carry, reach as needed.
Solid understanding of safe work practices and OSHA and EPA rules and regulations
Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
