The Vice President of Federal Health Business Development Lead will be a highly capable Business Development executive with strong abilities to open doors, negotiate and close deals as an individual and as the Federal Health BD team lead. Position should be immediately recognizable as a leader and door opener for current and future Federal Health markets and new opportunities, possessing strong proven abilities to identify and win new business. It is paramount this individual can lead the Health BD team to identify and win new business contracts and opportunities. A successful candidate will thrive on working within a fast-faced, high-growth environment; have a demonstrated record of successfully building and leading the win of new business opportunities in the Federal Government market while helping to shape the future market for MAXIMUS Federal Health.
Responsibilities:
Identify, Qualify and Capture new business opportunities as an individual contributor and as the team leader to meet current and future goals for Federal Health
Open the door to new markets in Federal Health by helping to shape the market for MAXIMUS Federal Health
Develop an effective go to market strategy to win new business in Federal Health markets to include Civilian Health (HHS, CMS, etc.) and Veterans Affairs (VA) and Defense Health (DHA)
Work with the Sr. Vice President of Federal Business Development and the President of Federal Health to set and align the growth strategy of the Federal Health Division and driving this plan's execution
Establish the Federal Health business development organization's goals, initiatives, and performance measures to support the growth of Federal Health and Federal as an organization overall
Lead and execute the development of opportunity, account and agency executable call plans and overall fiscal year account planning for the team
Collaborate and work with proposal teams, solutions teams, technology teams, and operations and delivery teams across MAXIMUS Federal and Federal Health to create a network of teamwork and success
Participate and represent MAXIMUS at Industry Health events, conferences, and agency focused initiatives
Identify, facilitate and lead engagements with current and future strategic partners
Identify, participate in and support along with the resources of the organization, the evaluation, due diligence, and integration of potential M&A targets
The Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following Additional Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required, preferred field of study in government, business administration, public policy, communications or health related field of studies
Demonstrated experience in collaborating and leading multi-dimensional teams in the Federal space around new opportunities and contracts
At least 10 years of experience conducting sales, business development, and capture activities in Federal Government sector with at least recent/current familiarity with Federal Health agencies and initiatives required
Knowledge of Public Sector Health outside of Federal a plus
Proven track record generating and winning new business opportunities in the Federal government contracting space a must
Knowledge of Federal government procurement practices and Federal government business development life cycle a must
Successful track record of winning of new business opportunities in an IT, Consulting or BPO environment with knowledge of business and technology solutions that Federal government purchases
Demonstrable experience with effective capture and proposal efforts around large scale Federal contracts and opportunities
Proven ability in working as a team leader and as an individual contributor to drive new business
Federal client facing and solution-oriented mindset
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Unquestioned personal integrity and ethical behaviors
Ability to originate ideas and expand team thinking with ability to create and be open to new ideas and new opportunities
A high energy individual with the ability to think quickly and provide common sense answers to complex business problems
Ability to quickly establish themselves as a trusted adviser and team member to the Sr. VP of Business Development and the President of Federal Health
Proven history of successful development of opportunity, account and agency executable call plans that have lead to shaping the market and new wins
Proven experience developing opportunities including new large scale contracts awarded as a result of efforts
Existing relationships with relevant Federal government officials, Federal partners and Federal industry organizations and a focus on Federal Health
