Position Summary

TheAccount Executive (Outreach & Field Focus) will lead client-facing grassroots campaigns, manage field teams, and drive strategic outreach initiatives. This role blends hands-on campaign execution with team leadership, coalition-building, and data-driven strategy to deliver high-impact results for clients.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in campaign leadership and field operations, excels in fast-paced collaborative environments, and can manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously. Candidates should be energetic, creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable supervising staff while executing client-facing campaigns.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on campaign work, client management, and team leadership, with a strong focus on grassroots outreach and field strategies.

What You Will Achieve

Campaign Strategy & Operations

  • Drive Campaign Strategy: Lead the development and execution of field programs, grassroots outreach, canvassing, phone banking, and events that align with client goals.
  • Analyze & Optimize: Use public opinion polling, voter history and program performance data to improve campaign outcomes and inform strategic decisions continuously.
  • Ensure Campaign Excellence: Oversee field operations to meet deadlines and deliverables, and produce high-quality, client-ready work across multiple projects and teams.

Client & Team Management

  • Lead Field Teams: Supervise canvassers, organizers, community outreach workers, and junior managers, fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Support Clients Proactively: Works alongside senior team members, ensuring timely updates, materials, and reporting, and at times serves as the primary client contact.
  • Develop Materials & Messaging: Drafts and edits outreach scripts, talking points, reports, and other campaign collateral that align with strategic objectives.

Community Engagement & Coalition Building

  • Build Relationships: Establish and maintain connections with community organizations, coalition partners, and local stakeholders to advance campaign goals.
  • Represent Clients Publicly: Attend events, community meetings, and coalition activities, serving as a credible, professional face for clients.
  • Strengthen Grassroots Networks: Identify opportunities to expand outreach and engagement while ensuring campaigns resonate with target communities.

Who You Are

  • You bring 3+ years of experience in grassroots organizing, field campaign management, or political/public affairs consulting, with a proven track record leading teams and multi-state projects.
  • You are highly organized, capable of managing multiple campaigns, teams, and priorities simultaneously in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • You are a team leader who inspires teams, takes ownership, and defines objectives and expectations precisely, ensuring everyone understands their role and the team's direction.
  • You possess excellent communication skills—including emails, reports, talking points, and social media messaging—and can represent clients professionally in person and virtually.
  • You are data-driven, able to interpret campaign analytics, and adjust strategies to maximize impact.
  • You are a self-starter, able to work independently and remotely when needed, while maintaining accountability and high-quality results.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, or Mandarin is preferred, and you are willing to travel for campaign projects outside of Southern California.
  • You are passionate about political and public affairs and consider staying informed on current events at the local, state, and federal levels integral to your work.
  • You thrive in hands-on campaign environments, enjoy building relationships, and are energized by leading teams and achieving measurable results.

Working at Street Level Strategy

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000–$90,000 per year
  • Benefits: Health coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision) starting the first of the month after 60 days of employment, paid time off, sick leave, 13 paid holidays, and technology support.
  • Retirement: 401(k) and profit-sharing plan
  • Work Environment: Hybrid position based in Pasadena or Sacramento, with remote flexibility
  • Travel: Occasional travel to Sacramento is required to support client meetings, coalition activities, and legislative or campaign-related work. Travel frequency may vary depending on project needs.
