Here we grow AGAIN! We have an amazing opportunity for a mid-level Accounting Manager to join our Team in this newly created hybrid role!

BRT, Inc. is a national quality B2B transporter of bulk liquid products since 1980 with a mission of world-class customer service, security, and safety.

The Accounting Manager reports to the CFO and will be responsible for assisting in all areas of financial reporting and control, and in the efficient, accurate, and timely presentation of periodic financial statements as well as the direct oversight of the financial processes and staff. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Oversight & effective management of A/R, A/P, payroll ledgers, credit/collections, and cash flow
  • Preparation of accurate & timely periodic financial statements, including general ledger journal entries/reconciliations, depreciation/accruals, cash management/bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, monthly P&L, and prep of balance sheets and annual budgets
  • Assist with research & management of cost accounting tasks, payroll taxes, federal/state fuel & road taxes, state sales tax, heavy-duty use taxes, and vehicle registration/permitting
  • Oversee audits for insurance, payroll, and month-end/year-end financial statement reviews
  • Assist with accounting policies/procedures, systems & controls, data integrity, efficiency & effectiveness improvements
  • Report preparation for taxes, titles, licenses, permits, and state-mandated information
  • Assure corporate income tax compliance and accurate/timely completion of all corp. income tax returns by partnering with outside CPA firm
  • Assist/advise on any other areas deemed necessary by CFO

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven managerial/supervisory abilities both in-person and remotely
  • Solution-focused, collaborative problem solver
  • Strong analytical abilities, business acumen/trends, and decision-making abilities
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office
  • Ability to learn internal custom ERP system
