ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for a confident, assertive and accountable Accounting Team Supervisor who will be responsible for the guidance, direction, and mentorship of a team of Senior and Staff Accountants. This role is tasked with creating a collaborative working environment, overseeing day-to-day client services to ensure quality, error-free work, and working closely with clients and leadership for the effective execution of deliverables. This position must be able to efficiently complete Senior-level work assignments, as well as serve as a central point of contact between team members, leadership and clients.
Success is understanding the balance between ownership and accountability and recognizing that the company’s achievements depend on the growth and development of the individual team members involved. This individual values open, honest, two-way communication and seeks continuous improvement, both on an individual level and across the organization’s operations as a whole. They must be highly organized, team-oriented, and a self-starter, with the expectation to work independently with minimal supervision. We are looking for a strong leader who enjoys coaching others and values the missions of all non-profit organizations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
● Completes Senior Accountant-level work
o Reviewing any team-prepared client deliverables
o Financial statements
● Liaise between the Accounting Manager and other team members
● Point person for client questions, both internally with team members and externally with client
● Assist with business development
o New client discovery calls
o Understanding client SOWs
● New client onboarding
● Conduct team meetings and check-ins
o 1:1s with team (Staff and Senior Accountants)
o Weekly/Monthly team huddles
● Ensure team success
o Provide active team support and problem solving
o Mentor, coach, and train team members for individual growth and development
o Conduct supervisory responsibilities, including goal setting and performance evaluations, with support from the Accounting Services Director
● Support in the recruitment and hiring of new team members
● Assist with team resourcing and project/task delegation for incoming and existing clients
● Review and approval of team time entries, time off requests, and billable hours
● General marketing tasks
● Client relationship management and customer service
o Exercise flexibility with after-hours work to meet client needs
● Additional projects and tasks, as assigned
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
● 15+ years of demonstrated accounting experience, required
● 3-5 years of proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role
● Proven experience performing accounting in a multi-client environment, preferred
● Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related experience
● Certified Public Accountant license, preferred
● Nonprofit/government accounting experience, preferred
● Must possess all basic and advanced skills and knowledge of accounting functions, as well as how said functions apply to nonprofit organizations (i.e. analyzing financials and provide accurate data to support clients’ financial decision making)
● Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, Windows, and all browsers, as well as experience with a variety of accounting software packages (including Quickbooks, Quickbooks Online, MIP, Bill.com, Intacct)
● Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
● Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in an autonomous, remote environment
● Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Proven ability to successfully work independently and with common sense
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
● NFP Partners will provide employees with a laptop and docking station.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $88,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
