Full job description
Heritage Center at Holiday Health Care is currently seeking a FT Activities Assistant to join our team! The candidates will help in the activity department by leading activities and assisting in the operations of the daily resident activities.
FT Assistant: Up to 40/hrs a week, must have evening and weekend availability
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess communication and people skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job. The minimum requirements include:
- Must be able to stand at least 85% of your job.
- Must be able to walk long distances around the facility. Must be able to climb, bend, swoop, and kneel.
- Must be able to carry at least 20 pounds or more.
- Must be able to speak and hear in a manner understood by most persons.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead daily activities by abiding by the scheduled activity calendar.
- Must be able to work when scheduled. Must be flexible if changes occur or if needed on short notice by Supervisor and/or Administrator.
- Must be willing and able to work all shifts if needed. Available to work weekends and able to work holidays.
- Must be able and willing to follow calendar, but flexible if changes need to be made.
- Must be able and willing to lead activities.
- At times, may provide back up to transportation driver's for activities held outside of the facility.
- Must be able to think of safety at all times when implementing activities, out of the building driving the bus, or on an outing. If an injury or accident occurs, must report immediately to Supervisor and/or Nurse. Must be aware of all disaster plans and know where and how to use fire extinguisher.
- Must be willing and able to alert Supervisor and/or Administrator of any behavior issues occurring between residents or with staff. Report any problems or concerns that may arise during the day. Record any behavior issues in the designated book in Activity Office.
- Must also be aware of budget limitations and not wasteful. Think recycle and reuse.
- Must be willing to do anything deemed necessary by either Supervisor and/or Executive Director to run the department in an orderly fashion.
