Administrative and Outreach Coordinator
Location: Administrative Offices – Clinton, LA
Schedule:34 or more hours weekly
Starting Salary: $14/hour DOE with advancement potential
General Information:
The Administrative and Outreach Coordinator supports the Library Director and administrative staff in day-to-day system operations while serving as a flexible, system-wide resource for outreach, reference, and staff coverage needs. This position is based at the Administrative Office in Clinton and may be assigned duties at any branch as necessary.
The Administrative and Outreach Coordinator may be required to perform any of the following duties:
- Assist with system-wide administrative tasks including filing, data entry, report compilation, booking, supply purchasing, and document reproduction
- Support public service and genealogy efforts at the Clinton branch, including responding to general reference inquiries and assisting patrons with local history or genealogical research
- Actively plan and participate in outreach efforts such as fairs, school visits, or community events to promote library services
- Serve as a branch substitute when needed to fill in for absent managers or staff, including traveling to other branches on short notice
- Perform other duties as assigned
Specific Duties:
- Provides administrative support for the Library Director and administrative staff, including assistance with scheduling, vendor communications, and material procurement
- Organizes and maintains physical and digital files, records, and reference materials
- Coordinates and executes local outreach programs to engage the community and expand awareness of library services
- Assists Clinton branch patrons with general information services and genealogy research using physical and digital resources
- Attends and represents the library at external events, actively seeking opportunities for public engagement
- Maintains knowledge of operations at all branches in order to step in effectively as needed
- Supports system-wide projects as assigned by the Library Director

Job requirements for this position include:
- Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; coursework or experience in public administration, history, library science, or a related field is preferred
- Ability to work night and weekend hours on occasion for outreach or special events
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 40 pounds, and push a loaded book cart
- Must be able to stand for extended periods during work
- Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
- Willingness and ability to work at any library branch within the system as needed
