Advertising Sales Executive for BloodHorse and Keeneland Magazine
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Reports to: General Manager

BloodHorse LLC is the leading provider of information and news for the Thoroughbred industry. Our multimedia portfolio includes the award-winning BloodHorse monthly print magazine and digital edition, the industry-leading website BloodHorse.com, the BloodHorse Daily newsletter, and mobile services providing timely insights for racing and breeding professionals. We maintain a strong presence across social media and publish a range of industry-focused publications.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a dynamic, driven sales professional to help grow two of the most respected brands in the Thoroughbred and luxury lifestyle sectors. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of elite sport, heritage publishing, and high-end advertising. As an Advertising Sales Executive, you'll be responsible for generating revenue across the BloodHorse media ecosystem and Keeneland Magazine, serving distinct yet complementary audiences. You’ll combine strategic insight, market knowledge, and relationship-building skills to deliver impactful marketing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Media Properties: BloodHorse & Keeneland Magazine
- Drive revenue across BloodHorse platforms: print magazine, digital edition, website, BloodHorse Daily newsletter, and mobile services
- Sell integrated advertising packages across print, digital, and social media
- Develop tailored proposals aligned with client goals and target demographics
- Cultivate and manage strong relationships with advertisers and industry partners
- Attend and represent the brand at key Thoroughbred and luxury events
Keeneland Magazine-Specific Focus:
- Target high-end brands and service providers in Central Kentucky
- Secure business from real estate, travel, fashion, dining, and luxury goods sectors
- Position editorial content as a premium platform for lifestyle marketing
Sales Execution & Team Collaboration
- Meet and exceed individual and team revenue targets
- Maintain a sales pipeline through strategic prospecting and networking
- Create insertion orders, track performance, and report on results
- Collaborate with editorial and design teams to deliver successful campaigns
- Support special projects and other assigned duties
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- 1–3 years of professional sales experience
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and close new business
- Experience with sales planning, strategy development, and performance tracking
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- College degree or equivalent experience
Preferred:
- Familiarity with CRM tools and digital advertising platforms
- Knowledge of the Thoroughbred industry or luxury lifestyle market
- Experience selling integrated media solutions
