After School Assistant Coordinator

  • Pay $25-$29 (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Monday-Friday, year-round
  • 30-40 hours/week

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children and passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment.

In this role, you will help lead and support our After School Program by promoting positive behavior, creativity, and social development. Your leadership and initiative will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations while creating meaningful and memorable experiences for children.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all policies and procedures of the Cambridge YMCA Childcare Program
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all health, safety, and EEC licensing regulations
  • Manage day-to-day classroom operations
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily activities
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
  • Support children’s social-emotional development and promote positive behavior
  • Observe, document, and communicate children’s progress
  • Build respectful partnerships with families
  • Work collaboratively with teaching team and After School Coordinator
  • Assist After School Coordinator with administrative duties, curriculum planning, and classroom management
  • Maintain confidentiality of YMCA children, families, and staff
  • Communicate respectfully, appropriately, and effectively with teaching team daily
  • Attend a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education trainings annually
  • Attend monthly staff meetings

Qualifications

  • Familiarity of EEC regulations and guidelines
  • Current child and adult CPR/First Aid certification
  • Completion of the 12 hour EEC 2.0 Strong Start training
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working with children, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
