After School Assistant Coordinator
- Pay $25-$29 (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Monday-Friday, year-round
- 30-40 hours/week
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children and passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment.
In this role, you will help lead and support our After School Program by promoting positive behavior, creativity, and social development. Your leadership and initiative will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations while creating meaningful and memorable experiences for children.
Responsibilities
- Follow all policies and procedures of the Cambridge YMCA Childcare Program
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with all health, safety, and EEC licensing regulations
- Manage day-to-day classroom operations
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and daily activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
- Support children’s social-emotional development and promote positive behavior
- Observe, document, and communicate children’s progress
- Build respectful partnerships with families
- Work collaboratively with teaching team and After School Coordinator
- Assist After School Coordinator with administrative duties, curriculum planning, and classroom management
- Maintain confidentiality of YMCA children, families, and staff
- Communicate respectfully, appropriately, and effectively with teaching team daily
- Attend a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education trainings annually
- Attend monthly staff meetings
Qualifications
- Familiarity of EEC regulations and guidelines
- Current child and adult CPR/First Aid certification
- Completion of the 12 hour EEC 2.0 Strong Start training
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Experience working with children, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
