General Description and Position Summary

The Agency Distribution Coordinator will perform a wide variety of professional and warehouse functions as part of the distribution center team. The Agency Distribution Coordinator will assist partner agencies in picking up orders, maintain high levels of customer service, and follow established inventory and material handling procedures to ensure the agency Distribution area is highly efficient.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform a variety of distribution center duties that require an understanding of First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and First Expired-First-Out (FEFO) inventory processing requirements of the USDA, AIB, and Feeding America.

· Assist partner agency representatives in picking & loading up orders.

· Maintain accurate inventory records by using inventory software to record all products added to agency orders at the time of pick up.

· Keep the shopping area shelves full.

· Assist in performing cycle counts, month and year-end inventory counts, and reconciliation of products.

· Execute inventory-related recall procedures.

· Assist in the loading and unloading of freezers and coolers.

· Work with the Operations Director and Food Flow Manager to coordinate and perform light building/equipment maintenance.

· Monitor and record the temperatures of all freezer and cooler units twice daily.

· Condense pallets and rearrange space to accommodate a steady flow of products.

· Handle frozen and refrigerated inventory, including sorting, combining, rotating, and disposal of outdated inventory.

· Keep assigned areas clean and perform other housekeeping and sanitation duties.

· Operate powered forklifts, Hi-Los, and reach trucks, and observe best practices for safety in all distribution center activities.

· Other job duties as assigned.


· High School diploma or GED.

· Maintain accurate records. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of weight successfully and record transactions with proper format and legibility.

· Operate a hand-held scanner and desktop computer, such as picking or locating inventory.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer functions. Working knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and usage.

· Learn and safely operate manual and powered equipment.

· Speak clearly and professionally over the phone and in person.

· Strong problem solving and time management skills.

· Manage multiple projects with attention to detail while handling interruptions, maintaining focus on tasks, and producing accurate work.

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.

· Work independently and as part of a team.

· Obtain food safety certification.

Work Environment

· Warehouse setting with a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. Entrance may be open and work conditions may vary based on outside weather.

· In and out of freezers and coolers with extreme variations in temperature. Certain work requires prolonged time working in the freezer at sub-zero temperatures.

· Workspace, on occasion, can be noisy due to the traffic of motorized vehicles operating in the building and the volunteer floor.

· May periodically work outside and be exposed to the elements.

· May be exposed to spoiled food and sharp objects due to working with damaged products.

· Required to wear safety-toed shoes/boots.

· Use manual and electric pallet jacks, the ability to push and pull pallets over 2,000 pounds.

· Walking, sitting, squatting, bending, twisting, and reaching various heights.

· Exert force, lift, and carry items weighing 20-50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.

· Operate powered forklifts, Hi-Lo, and reach trucks, and always demonstrate best practices for safety in all distribution center activities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
