Position Overview:

As an Agricultural Laborer, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting farm operations. Your work will directly impact crop production, customer satisfaction, and overall farm efficiency. This position requires a strong work ethic, adaptability, and a passion for agriculture.

Responsibilities:

Field Work:

· Planting and Harvesting: You’ll be involved in planting seeds, tending to crops, and harvesting seeds. This includes tasks like sowing seeds, weeding, and operating machinery such as tractors and combines.

· Crop Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain crops, ensuring they receive proper care, irrigation, and pest control.

· Field Preparation: Prepare fields for planting by tilling, fertilizing, and leveling the soil.

Seed Cleaning:

· Seed Sorting and Processing: Clean and sort seeds to ensure high-quality planting material. Remove impurities, damage seeds, and foreign matter.

Loading Customer Orders:

· Order Fulfillment: Accurately assemble customer orders based on specifications. Load seed onto trucks and other transportation vehicles for delivery.

Delivering Orders:

· Safe Transportation: Drive delivery vehicles (including semis) to transport seed to customers, dealers, and grain elevators.

· Timely Deliveries: Ensure timely and efficient delivery while maintaining product quality.

Forklift Operation:

· Handling Equipment: Operate forklifts and other machinery to load and unload shipments, move pallets, and organize storage areas.

· Safety First: Adhere to safety protocols when operating equipment and handling heavy loads.

Attending Trade Days and Farming Events:

· Networking and Learning: Participate in local trade days, agricultural fairs, and industry events. Engage with other farmers, suppliers, and experts to stay informed about the latest practices, technologies, and trends.

· Representing the Farm: Be an ambassador for our farm during these events, sharing our story and building connections within the farming community.

· Flexibility: Must be willing to work late hours or longer shifts during harvest season.

Maintenance:

  • Maintaining Equipment: Must be comfortable working on farm equipment, changing oil and routine maintenance. Cleaning equipment and delivery vehicles inside and out during slow periods in permitting weather.

Qualifications:

· Physical Stamina: This role involves manual labor, lifting, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

· Attention to Detail: Precise seed sorting, order accuracy, and safe equipment operations are essential.

· Valid Driver’s License: Required for driving delivery vehicles and operating machinery.

· CDL: Must have or be able to obtain an CDL to drive Semis.

· Team Player: Show up on time for scheduled shifts and adhere to work schedules, foster positive relationships with fellow team members. Have effective communication, cooperation, and a friendly attitude.

Benefits:

· Annual Salary starting at $50,000 based on experience.
