Job Title:

Alternative Learning Opportunities Program Teacher

Qualifications:

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree. Bi-lingual preferred

Job Goal:

To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Performance Responsibilities:

Other essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Takes and enters daily attendance per school policy
  • Maintains structured classroom procedures, utilize effective classroom management strategies, and enforce all school policies
  • Activates new classes for students as needed
  • Oversees student progress through each online class; provides 1-1 and small group assistance when needed
  • Completes grading of activities in a timely manner and maintains accurate records of grades
  • Assigns necessary assignments, lessons, quizzes and tests in the online class software
  • Creates supplemental/ enrichment activities and/or identifies additional resources to address students academic needs
  • Monitors student progress by running regular progress reports; identifying students who are off -track
  • Reports all behavioral, social/emotional, or personal student concerns to Site Coordinator
  • Recognizes student achievement and positive behaviors in the classroom

Terms of Employment:

Twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by Area Director of Alternative Programs. Salary based on on experience and education.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Area Director of Alternative Programs in accordance with Board Policy.
