Anti-Trafficking Resident Assistant – FT or PT

Project Light is a special faith-based anti-trafficking program of the Raleigh Dream Center that provides a safe place and after-care for victims of human trafficking.

As Resident Assistant, you will oversee household operations and resident care during weekend evening activities at the safe home.

It is required that you have a personal walk with Jesus Christ and are a practicing Christian. And, because this is a safe house for female victims who need privacy and a safe space, we are looking for female candidates only.

Part-time and full-time positions are available:

Shifts will be Mon-Fri from 3pm to 11pm and 11pm to 7am. Saturday or Sunday 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am.

Here are some of the things you’ll be doing:

• Provide care to residents (including meals, general health, and other needs) and make decisions in emergency situations
• Manage the weekend and evening household schedule
• Oversee weekend evening volunteer activities when scheduled
• Complete appropriate documentation of resident case files and staff communication
• Build relationships with residents and encourage growth and goals (in collaboration with the safe home staff team)
• Be present and available for emotional and spiritual encouragement and guidance
• Implement medical protocol in emergency situations and conduct ER transportation when needed
• Maintain a stable environment and facilitate conflict resolution
• Implement trauma-informed corrective conversations and redirection where needed while keeping household physical and emotional safety in mind

To be considered for this role, we prefer you have:

• Experience in mentoring and serving in a residential environment
• Experience with conflict resolution and crisis management, which you handle with a calm and mature approach
• Ability to be understanding and sensitive while offering appropriate care and responses
• Knowledge/familiarity with trauma-informed therapeutic approaches and environment, specifically for individuals who have experienced commercial sexual exploitation
• A strong sense of and respect for confidentiality with both residents and fellow employees
• A degree/degree-in-process/similar experience in Social Services, Case Management, Counseling, Ministry, Human Services, or similar program

Raleigh Dream Center is a Christian-based, volunteer driven organization providing residential and community outreach programs to those struggling with food insecurity, homelessness, addiction, trafficking situations, and abused or impoverished individuals.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
