Position Title: Apartment Leasing Manager

Sampson Morris Group is a Commercial and Residential real estate organization in Western PA that has developed and continues to manage more than 2.8 million square feet of commercial portfolio and 3,500 residential units.

Sampson Morris Group is hiring a full-time- Apartment Leasing Manager for the Pittsburgh-Monroeville, PA area.

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to consistently lead and motivate leasing consultants and teams.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, communication skills, both verbal and written, and active listening and proofreading abilities
  • 5+ years of demonstrated rental leasing experience, with at least 2 years of experience supervising a leasing team and managing people.
  • Intermediate computer skills; experience using property management software, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and other Microsoft Suite programs.
  • Developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize issues and tasks, paying strict attention to detail.
  • Availability to work overtime during the prime leasing season.
  • Reliable transportation and valid Driver’s license
  • Multifamily web marketing experience
  • In-depth understanding of lease contracts and Fair Housing
  • Active PA Real Estate license, or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; Leasing certifications preferred.

Accountability Objectives: Train, support and supervise leasing personnel in assigned portfolio, ensuring superior customer service is achieved consistently with both prospective residents and existing residents, striving for 95% or greater average occupancy. The ideal candidate takes personal responsibility for the Leasing Teams’ success.

Job Dimensions - Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads, motivates, and ensures consistent accountability of leasing personnel.
  • Effectively trains new hires according to company policies in leasing and customer service.
  • Reviews recorded shop calls and in-person tour shop results on a frequent basis, providing feedback and coaching to leasing personnel to improve their skills.
  • Site office customer service coverage in the absence of regularly assigned personnel.
  • Collaborates with the marketing team to market community availability and ensure attractiveness in all aspects of marketing.
  • Ensures accuracy and correctness in all marketing by reviewing third party websites, in-house websites, all in-house marketing pieces & ads; facilitates corrections where required.
  • Works with Director of Operations to maintain policy & procedure manuals and all leasing related documents. Aids in the development and refinement of on-going leasing strategies
  • Stays up to date on local competitor and market data, assisting the Operations Director with weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Operations Director
