Position Overview
We are seeking someone with strong, creative talent, along with exceptional leadership and aesthetic management skills to be a part of a nationally recognized and award-winning team. As Senior Lead Designer you will play a leadership role in a creative team of designers and collaborate with clients to create inspiring projects and timeless homes. An interest in/experience in sustainability and high performance building (passive house, net zero) would be a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate and develop design concepts in Autodesk Revit that work in the space and meet intended design goals and budget of the client.
- Create and monitor project schedules and budgets.
- Have a collaborative approach, with a willingness to train, support and mentor.
- Have excellent client-facing communication skills - assist with preparation of the construction contracts, accompanied by the construction drawings, written scope of work and costs of construction.
- Troubleshoot problems on site and make recommendations to correct and move the project forward without compromising design intent.
- Actively work on high-level tasks and deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate and apply construction knowledge of building and energy codes, architectural and structural systems, residential construction practices, building science, and sustainability initiatives.
- Produce sets of production documents in both design development (DD) and CD phases, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Job requires some weekend/evening hours at trade shows and networking events.
Skills, Knowledge, & Experience
- 10+ years of experience as a Designer/Architect producing construction documents.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Design, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of Experience with Autodesk Revit in professional setting.
- Experience with residential remodeling, especially additions - knowledge of building assembly, insulation , sustainable design and building materials are all very important to this position.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Adobe Suite, Bluebeam Revu and Buildertrend is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in building & energy codes, construction practices & architectural design.
- Strong leadership and people skills.
- Experience in project and client management.
- Experience with estimating preferred but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, both internal and external .
- Collaborative and professional work ethic.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
