JOB SUMMARY:
This position will assist the National Archivist in organizing and preserving the Archives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Make preservation copies of newspaper clippings and other fragile documents, will make preservation scans of biographical information and general subject materials. Will learn archival principles including processing, conservation, and document management. Main duty is to organize the uncatalogued photos. Also will use microfilm to locate articles and materials from Salvation Army publications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of US geography
Knowledge of US History
WORKING CONDIITIONS:
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomfort associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
