Job Title: Assembler

Department: Manufacturing

Reports to: Senior Lead Production Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Date: February 2018

Schedule: 2nd Shift


To assemble finished product using sub-assemblies, parts, molding, and fasteners, and pack in designated carton according to customer specification sheet and company policies.


Essential Functions

· Communicates assembly and packing problems. Reports problems to department supervisor or quality technician

· Reads production and work orders communicates any BOM discrepancies. Assembles lighting products accordingly

· Inspects products for debris and proper function of the products. Finds and corrects any errors or defects. Must insure total quality before packing any units

· Inspects materials as they are used. Makes decisions to insure that a top quality product will be sent to the customer

· Assists in training new employees

· Willingness to perform hand and body warm-up exercises at the start of each shift and after lunch and breaks to minimize potential for repetitive motion injuries

· Maintains a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies

· Must properly label package to avoid sending wrong product

· Must be able to communicate and interact with others

· Performs all other duties as assigned

· Good communications skills

· Good organization skills

· Must be able to read, write and speak English

· Demonstrated proficiency in reading and math

· Must be able to follow basic instructions and use hand tools and some power tools such as a saw, drill press, etc.

· Must understand and follow basic instructions. Work is highly repetitive and requires a considerable amount of total incoming quality judgement and making many decisions

· Final say on quality before customer gets the products

Production: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand. The team member is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The team member is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The team member must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds.
