REPORTS TO: Education Director


Position Summary: This is a teacher leadership position, incorporating a heavy-part-time teaching role and part-time administrative, training and leadership support for the Bubbles Academy arts-integrated preschool team. In this role, the employee must have excellent communication skills, be able to inspire enthusiasm among participants, articulate verbally, and proficiently operate required equipment and software.

This position is perfect for a lead teacher with a director credential who is ready to move into a leadership role but isn't ready to leave the classroom. It's also perfect for a lead teacher who loves mentoring early career preschool assistant teachers.

General Functions:

  • Knowledge about and experience with the developmental, social, emotional and cognitive abilities in early childhood
  • Excellence in classroom management techniques, especially toward building SEL and executive functioning skills
  • Passion for connecting with students and creating a healthy classroom community
  • Ability to collaborate, create, and modify emergent curriculum with colleagues on a team
  • Flexibility in working with colleagues to integrate the arts into play and emergent curriculum
  • Dedication to developing one’s own cultural competency and incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion in daily practice
  • Enthusiasm for professional development
  • Social emotional skills that are professional, use sound judgment, and show emotional maturity
  • Experience with supervising and mentoring teachers and assistant teachers
  • Adept at clear and tactful communication with parents
  • Assists with preschool admissions process, giving tours and communicating with families ahead of enrollment
  • Manages administrative processes including snack and lunch ordering and attendance
  • Assists with daily check-in, greeting parents and interacting with students at the start of the school day
  • Assists director and administrative team in developing and delivering professional development for teaching team
  • Fosters a positive self-image and confidence in each respective child.
  • Addresses any questions or concerns parents may have.
  • Observes trainees and provides as much support and feedback as needed
  • Maintains a positive outlook and attitude and mutually respectful relationships with staff
  • Supports teaching team by subbing in classrooms as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
  • Knowledge of current research and best practice in early childhood education.

Credentials and Experience:

  • A degree from a four-year college or university with at least eighteen (18) semester hours in courses directly related to child care and/or child development from birth to age 6. (required)
  • Four years experience in a child enrichment center or preschool. (required)
  • A Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
  • Experience managing a team of teachers (preferred)
  • Experience in the Visual or Performing Arts (preferred)

Special Requirements:

Able to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as requested by position.


Available 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
