Makers Market is a growing brand in search of enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, sales-driven Assistant Store Manager at our beautiful shop at the Lumber Yard in Mill Valley!

Job Description & Responsibilities

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in leading the team, sales & operations of the store. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Achieving personal and store daily & monthly sales targets
  • Develop special event ideas for the store. (e.g. Maker Trunk Shows, Influencer events)
  • Drive business to the store by partnering with the shopping center marketing team, reaching out to local hotels and residences, and employing other creative marketing efforts
  • Follow-up on special customer orders
  • Lead by example by executing the Makers Market Sales & Clienteling procedures, including welcoming customers, assist with product selection, provide product knowledge of our makers, encourage customers to sign up for email lists to stay up-to-date on our store markets, events, and promotions
  • Opening and closing the store
  • Daily cash reconciliation
  • Receiving and verifying incoming merchandise
  • Execute transfers of product from store to store
  • Merchandising product as outlined in our Merchandising Standards
  • Uphold all Makers Market Policies & Procedures
  • Be a brand ambassador!

Job Requirements

  • Must have a passion for Made in America and/or handmade products
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to take responsibility and execute
  • A natural born leader who can delegate and follow up to ensure tasks are complete
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail, reliable, and dedicated
  • 4 years of retail sales experience and 2 years of retail management preferred
  • Open availability preferred

Salary: $18 - $22/hour depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
