Lead Qualified Assistant Teacher (Preschool Classroom 3 to 5 Year Old's)

Location: Positive Bright Start

Schedule: Temporary full time position for Fall 7:15am to 3:45pm

Job Overview:

Positive Bright Start Child Care seeks a dedicated Lead Qualified Assistant Teacher to join our preschool classroom team. As a Lead Assistant Teacher, you'll play a key role in creating a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive environment for young children. You'll work with other experienced educators to implement our Positive Behavior Support (PBiS) model and provide high-quality early childhood education. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with lead teachers to implement the Positive Behavior Support (PBiS) model in the classroom.
• Engage with children in a caring, supportive, and educational manner.
• Participate in hands-on training with an onsite classroom coach.
• Foster a safe, positive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and educational growth.
• Work with other staff to maintain classroom routines and expectations.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and other required training sessions.
• Implement strategies to manage and prevent challenging behaviors.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: At least one year of experience in a licensed childcare facility.
• Education: Lead Teacher qualification (state certification or equivalent).
• Knowledge: Understanding of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), safety procedures, and Positive Behavior Support principles.
• Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills and the ability to provide a nurturing and structured classroom environment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry children, stoop/bend, and perform basic cleaning tasks.
• Other Requirements: Health assessment, negative TB test, CPR/First Aid certification, and satisfactory KBI criminal background check.
