Full job description
Position Summary— Performs a wide variety of Attorney functions with a focus on Estate Planning, Business Planning, Probate, and Trust Administration. We are currently seeking to fill two positions within our estate planning practice:
- Senior Level Attorney
This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in estate planning, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked extensively with high-net-worth clients and are familiar with WealthCounsel drafting software or similar tools.
- Junior Level Attorney
This position is ideal for a newer attorney with at least one (1) year of experience in estate planning. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of core estate planning principles and a strong interest in developing a long-term career in the field.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Meeting with and/or communicating with clients to discern their wishes (engaging new clients and reviewing current client plans).
- Drafting appropriate documents including Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives.
- Advising clients on estate, gift, GST, and income tax matters, and explaining the firm’s approach to estate planning, engagements, and fees.
- Supporting other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff with the above tasks as required.
Revenue – The associate attorney will be responsible for the revenue goals that have been set at the beginning of the year for each individual Associate Attorney, in line with your time with the company, experience, and role.
Marketing & Events– Participates in firms marketing activities, including public speaking engagements, educational events and seminars, writing articles and blogs, and other activities as necessary.
Continuing Education – Attend CLE as necessary to maintain competence and any credentialing.
Other Duties — Attorneys must undertake whatever duties are necessary in order to fulfill the business needs. This may involve providing support to other functional areas of the Company. Attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff all work together for the firm and for the benefit of its clients. In a law office such as ours, everyone is required from time to time to “pitch in” and help others when workloads so demand.
Qualifications & Skills —
- J.D. Degree and license to practice law in the state of Colorado, in good standing with the Colorado State Bar.
- Excellent communications skills – both oral and written.
- Attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to anticipate client’s needs, assess problems, find solutions, and expect the firm’s needs to avoid surprises and unpreparedness for anyone.
- Proven client relationship skills, including the ability to lead in-person client meetings, engage new clients, advise current clients, and draft estate and business planning documents.
Supervisory responsibilities — Direct Reports include Lead Paralegals and Paralegals.
Position type and expected hours of work — Full-time, regular employee. Normal office hours. Additional hours may be required for travel, events, and fulfilment of responsibilities.
Travel — Occasional travel within the state of Colorado might be required up to twice per month.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
