SKILLS TO SUPPORT NEURODIVERSITY:

You will learn best practices to assess, treat and support autistic and ADHD adults.

COUPLES SKILLS:

You will receive exposure to Trauma-Informed Neurodiverse Couples Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Imago Therapy, Relational Life Therapy, Couples-based CBT, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, Family Systems, Gottman and other couples-based approaches.

BROAD SKILLS DEVELOPMENT:

Our clients bring in every kind of problem (depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, parenting issues, sexual struggles...), you will also build your competence in these areas.

Even though most of our clients are couples, you will have opportunities to treat individuals (individual support for the Autistic partner or Neurotypical spouse) so you can meet the training requirements of the BBS.

Lastly, through our website, Adult Autism Assessment Center, you will receive training on administering ASD and ADHD assessments to our clients. See our site at

https://www.adult-autism-assessment.com

LEARNING:

Clinicians-in-training are expected to dedicate themselves to an intensive program of didactic and clinical learning in order to achieve excellence in assessment and the effective application of integrative psychotherapy.

We value therapists who are self-driven; hungry to constantly question your experiences and learn from them. Our goal is to support your passion for lifelong learning of theory, research and practice.

You will get clients from our constant flow of clients seeking our specialized services. You will also learn how to market and attract your own clients.

INDEPENDENCE:

You will set your own hours, set your fee, and use the therapeutic approach that best fits you. We believe that you will help your clients the most when you are encouraged to be your best self.

VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON:

All of our therapists practice completely remotely (and love it!!); however, if you live near San Jose, CA, you will share an office that is set up to treat couples (chairs on wheels, whiteboard...). The office is conveniently located at 3880 South Bascom Ave, San Jose, CA 95124. The in-person / virtual mix is up to you.

PRIVATE PRACTICE:

You will learn how to launch your private practice, build your client base, and master the business side of being a therapist. This is an essential area that many interns do not get training in but desperately need. Our goals is to empower you to be a great clinician AND business person.

MODERN & EFFICIENT:

You will learn how to operate your practice efficiently with a paperless document management process. This will provide you with a hassle-free way to manage your client documentation, billing and insurance records.

DIVERSITY:

We are committed to supporting clinicians-in-training from underrepresented groups in entering the field of psychotherapy while making a living wage. Currently, more than fifty percent of our our clinicians-in-training are from groups who historically have not been equally represented in mental health fields.

FAITH:

For clients who express an interest in an integrating their faith into therapy, you will learn how to make spiritual growth part of a positive therapeutic experience.

You will receive fair payment for your services.
