As the Associate Specialty Craftsman, this role is integral to producing high-quality custom wood + metal products that meet our exacting standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for precision craftsmanship, an understanding of diverse materials + a dedication to creating exceptional pieces that enhance the aesthetic + functional quality of our projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create and assemble custom wood + metal products with a high degree of precision + quality.
· Operate + maintain hand tools, power tools + specialized equipment.
· Read + interpret technical drawings + blueprints to ensure projects meet specifications.
· Collaborate with design + production teams to ensure smooth workflow + accurate implementation of designs.
· Conduct quality inspections to ensure all work meets company standards + client specifications.
· Assist in the installation of completed projects, ensuring a seamless integration with other elements.
· Maintain a clean + organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
· Continuously improve skills + stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools + techniques.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as an Associate Finishing Specialty or in a similar role within the woodworking or cabinetry industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of finishing materials, tools + techniques is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail with an eye for color + texture.
- Ability to work both independently + as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills + a collaborative attitude.
- Commitment to quality a passion for delivering outstanding results.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS + ATTITUDES
- Technical skills: Technical skills are the abilities that the Associate Finishing Specialist must have that allow them to complete tasks. They must have knowledge of tools, software, machinery + other resources that they will use to complete a job.
- Communication skills: Communication skills are essential for this role to effectively communicate with their team, collaborate with other departments + ensure smooth operations. Ability to articulate questions, provide updates + discuss project details with team members.
- Attention to detail: The Associate Finishing Specialist needs sharp attention to detail to ensure high-end custom products. This attention to detail enables them to maintain high standards of accuracy, quality + safety throughout the operations.
- Problem-solving skills: This position will use problem-solving skills to find solutions to challenges they encounter on the job. They need the ability to work collaboratively with others, resolving any issues that arise + contributing to a positive team environment.
- Mechanical aptitude: As the Associate Finishing Specialist, you will need proficiency in using various hand + power tools, troubleshooting + performing minor repairs + understanding basic mechanical concepts like tool calibration + equipment setup. You should also be able to read technical drawings + blueprints, adjust machinery settings for desired outcomes, know different wood types + their finishing requirements.
JOB TYPE
- Full-time.
- Monday – Friday.
- On-site – Draper, UT.
- Highly physical. Must be able to lift heavy items, stand for multiple hours + withstand a variety of climates in the warehouse.
