Alternative Onsite Soil Evaluator
Job Description Role and Responsibilities:
Manages evaluation, design, and inspection of onsite sewage systems. Builds evaluation, design, and inspection business through outreach, advocacy, and other company-directed efforts.
Represent the company at industry trade shows and conferences.
Train and educate the company on industry best practices.
Prepare reports and complete paperwork related to permitting and inspection of onsite sewage systems.
Communicate appropriate information via telephone, text, and email with clients, regulators, and co-workers.
Set up and maintain job files which includes acquiring job specific information from various sources.
Inspect conventional and alternative onsite sewage systems for real estate transactions.
Oversee start-up conventional and alternative onsite sewage systems.
Enter data related to operation, maintenance, and inspection reports.
Learn, interpret and apply environmental health laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Provide logistical support for construction, operation, and maintenance team.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid DPOR Alternative Onsite Soil Evaluator (AOSE) license.
Computer-aided drafting and experience in the design of conventional and alternative onsite systems.
A sound understanding of public health principles as they pertain to Environmental Health.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state regulations.
Position requires moderately strenuous physical labor, working outdoors during all seasons of the year.
Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing computerized software, databases, and spreadsheets including Microsoft Office.
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and assertive. Ability to analyze and compile information, and communicate results to a diverse group of stakeholders.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
The qualified candidate has the capability to make independent and sound decisions and to work without direct supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree/Experience in Environmental Health or related field. The equivalent combination of training & directly related experience indicating possession of the above knowledge, skills & abilities may substitute for education. Active participation in industry groups, both local and national is a plus. Knowledge of electrical circuits and plumbing, or construction experience.
Additional Notes:
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory state and federal criminal history background check, DMV check, reference check, and pre-employment drug test. A 90-day probationary period is required.
