  • Strong working knowledge of audio and video technology and equipment.

  • Understanding of maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and operations in a technological and educational environment.
  • Possess the ability to learn and implement new technologies.

  • Possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.

Education Requirements:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in audiovisual technology, electronics, computer science, or related field

Job Goal:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio and visual equipment used in educational environments and events. This role is crucial in enhancing the effectiveness of educational delivery through technological support and innovation.

Performance Responsibilities:

Other essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Set up and operate audio and visual equipment, including microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, and sound and mixing boards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to audio and visual systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on audio and visual equipment.
  • Assist in the design and installation of new AV systems as required.
  • Train and instruct staff on the essential operation of AV equipment.
  • Ensure all AV equipment is stored securely and is accessible for various events.
  • Coordinate with event organizers to meet specific audio and visual technology needs.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment and ensure items are in good working condition.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the AV field to make recommendations for upgrades and new purchases.
  • Provide technical support to company staff, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve computer problems, and redirect unresolved issues to the Chief Technology Officer.
  • Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network resources, including switches, routers, and wireless access points, through the local area network and wide area network.
  • Assist in training staff on computer systems and online applications.
  • Maintain flexible availability to accommodate event schedules, which may include working nights and/or weekends, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer.

Terms of Employment:

Twelve - month year. Salary and work year to be established by Executive Director

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Chief Technology Officer in accordance with Board Policy
